Marayoor is an important pre-historic site in Kerala. The land and its unique dolmens, rock edicts, caves and art declare its rich heritage. Waterfall and Rajiv Gandhi National Park are other nearby attractions.
It is one of the historical belongings from the New Stone Age civilization. These were burial chambers made of four stones placed on edge and covered by a fifth stone called the cap stone.
